SESSION OPTIONS
Individual Counseling
One-on-one therapy sessions tailored to your goals, experiences, and individual healing process. Our therapists provide a compassionate and nonjudgmental space for exploring challenges, fostering resilience, and discovering clarity. Animal-assisted and nature-based options are available upon request.
Group Counseling
Shared experiences can be a powerful catalyst for healing. Our therapist-led support groups provide a safe environment to build connections, gain insight, and feel less alone on your journey. Group services are focused on specific areas such as:
Grief and Loss: Facilitating group sessions for individuals coping with the loss of loved ones, including companion and service animals.
Life Transitions: Providing group support for those navigating significant life changes, offering a sense of community and shared understanding.
EMDR Therapy
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a research-supported psychotherapy designed to help people heal from trauma, anxiety, and distressing life experiences. At Good Talk Counseling, EMDR helps the brain safely process difficult memories, so they lose their emotional intensity and no longer interfere with daily life.
Animal-Assisted Therapy
Let a companion join you on your path to healing. Our certified and other animal partners help ease anxiety, build trust, and create a warm, grounded environment for therapeutic work. Sessions are designed to thoughtfully integrate animal support in the therapeutic process based on each client's comfort, unique needs, preferences, and goals.
Nature-Based Therapy
Nature is a natural healer. We embrace its restorative power. For clients who find nourishment in the outdoors, we offer walk-and-talk therapy sessions or outdoor animal-assisted sessions in our serene, peaceful natural spaces, spanning five acres. This option is ideal for individuals who benefit from movement, fresh air, and connection to the rhythms and wonders of nature.

Community-Based
Healing doesn’t always happen in an office—and at Good Talk Counseling, it doesn’t have to. We provide community-based mental health services across Longmont and surrounding areas, meeting clients in settings that feel safe, familiar, and empowering. These sessions may take place in a park, at a community center, during a walk-and-talk in a local neighborhood, or in another mutually agreed-upon location. Community-based counseling is especially helpful for clients who thrive in real-world environments, benefit from movement, or are working on skills like emotional regulation and social engagement outside traditional therapy spaces.
SUPPORT SPECIALTIES
Aging Support
Aging brings emotional, cognitive, and social changes. Our therapists are experienced in supporting older adults and their caregivers as they navigate the challenges of aging, including retirement, changing roles, chronic illness, memory concerns, loneliness, and end-of-life reflection with dignity, purpose, and connection.
Grief and Loss Counseling
Whether you or your family is grieving the loss of a loved one, a companion or a service animal, a relationship, or a chapter of your life, our therapists provide a space for your sorrow to be seen, held, and gently supported while guiding the process and helping you cope with disenfranchised grief and the pain of loss.
Neurodiversity
We embrace and celebrate neurodivergent clients, including those with ADHD, autism, and other cognitive variations, and tailor our approach to honor their communication style, sensory needs, and identity. We aim to help reduce distress and provide access to tools for self-advocacy, building confidence, and promoting overall well-being.
Trauma-Informed
We provide trauma-informed care for adults navigating the impact of past experiences. Our compassionate approach helps clients process safely, build resilience, and regain a sense of control, fostering a calming, trusting environment for healing and recovery.

Our therapists support clients through uncertainty with empathy and practical tools for navigating significant change.
